Good win
GOALS win games and this was the situation in Tourmakeady for the Mayo Under 21 championship as the homeside defeated a highly determined Bonniconlon side on a score of 5-9 to 2-14. A hat-trick from Darren Kelly and scores from Mike Burke and Danny Walsh paved the way for a nail-biting finish.
The sides were level with three minutes remaining when Kelly’s third, and Tourmakeady’s fifth, goal sealed the issue. Others to shine were Mike Kelly, Steven Staunton and Shane Staunton.
Tourmakeady senior team take on Shrule-Glencorrib in the Mayo relegation semi-final in mid-August.
