Litter Action League 2015 The Litter Action League competition has begun for this year and runs from April to September. The following is the areas in question-from the speed limit at Coláiste Muire to the Health Centre, from O’Toole's to the speed limit on the Gortfree Rd and from Tourmakeady Woods via Church Road to the Grotto. Judging takes place unannounced each month and a written report is given after each inspection. Tourmakeady are in Group B of the competition and they are drawn against Ballindine for the month of April. We are asking for your help to keep the area free from litter, and keep Tourmakeady tidy. Easter Egg Hunt Thank you to everyone who joined in the Easter Egg Hunt. It was a great day. The beautiful weather and the easy access to Páirc Spraoi Thuar Mhic Éadaigh were perfect. Thank you especially to those behind the scenes and the young people from Foróige and of course Easter Bunny!

The new initiative will take place mainly on Saturdays and Sundays and if you are interested in learning to understand the skills that are needed to safely hill walk you can contact 087 6555069 for more information.

St Patrick’s Day in Tourmakeady - Behind such a great day were some great people so thank you to all the helpers, all those who again helped us with a supply of refreshments, Kevin O'Toole for his sponsorship, those minding the parade, those on the Community Employment Schemes and all those in the hall on the day and otherwise helping and getting it ready for this wonderful community event. Thank you and happy St Patrick's Day!
Thank you. It is very hard to know what to say when you wish to say thank you to someone! Today was another example of the great community spirit here in the area. The massive support that we had for St Patrick’s Day makes it all worthwhile and is so rewarding. We are very grateful and want to thank you all for your support and commitment and for making it such a brilliant day. The weather of course was on form and added greatly to the ambience.
Annual Good Friday Card Game 3rd April in Halla Tourmakeady at 900pm refreshments, plenty of spot prizes and a great welcome awaits the community and community clubs.
Churchfield and Tourmakeady graveyards - if you have old plastic flowers or rubbish from around the graveyards over the next two weeks. Please put it in a black plastic bag and leave inside the gate. It will be collected and taken away.
Easter Egg Hunt Young children and their parents are invited to join the Tourmakeady Easter Bunny in an Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Saturday 4th April 2.00pm. Meet at the Tourist Office Opposite Hall Tourmakeady.
Planning your diary - Ceol na Locha Music Festival Monday 10th August to 14th August 2014 in Tourmakeady. Brochures will be available in May.
Spring Clean The annual spring clean will take place in Tourmakeady village on Friday 17th April at 7.00pm meet at the hall.
Tourmakeady has entered the Mayo County Council Litter Action League 2015 taking place from April through to October 2015. Please help to get Tourmakeady litter free. More information 094 95 44295.
Do you like hill walking? Tourmakeady is in the process of developing and revisiting old walks and new walks. If anyone is interested in joining a hill walk you are most welcome. The new initiative will take place mainly on Saturdays and Sundays and if you are interested in learning to understand the skills that are needed to safely hill walk you can contact 087 6555069 for more information.
Better Energy Communities / Area Programme in Tourmakeady. This is the national upgrade programme to retrofit Ireland’s building stock and facilities to high standards of energy efficiency, thereby reducing fossil fuel use, running costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
