Teagasc help for farmers
Teagasc will be running a short evening computer course for farmers in the Community centre in Tourmakeady in November.The area covered will be the use of the Department of Agriculture on-line system for Single Farm Payment application, the online Registration of calves, Suckler Welfare Scheme and other facilities available. This is suitable for farmers or family members with a little knowledge of computers.

Don’t forget that there is a weekly bus service to Castlebar. Take the hassle out of driving into town. There is a bus every Friday leaving O’Toole’s at 10.30 a.m. Free passes are accepted. It is open to all. Other collection points are available. It returns at approximately 3 p.m. Please support this worthwhile service.

A SOCIAL welfare officer will be in attendance every Thursday between 12 noon and 1 p.m. at the Medical Centre, Tourmakeady.
Marriage
Congratulations to Miss Deirdre Mannion, daughter of Tom and Eleanor Mannion, Partry, on her marriage to Mr. David McDermott, Ballinrobe. The ceremony took place in St. Mary’s Church, Partry, on Friday, October 7th, and the reception was held in Lisloughrey Hotel, Cong.

Partry Athletic Football Club will be holding an EGM on Wednesday, November 9, at 8.30 p.m. in Partry Community Centre. The meeting has been called to allow the club to vote on the proposed changes which were drafted at the recently held parents’ meeting of the under age footballers. All club members are required to attend.
Marie Lukes
It will be a Hallowe’en double act at Maire Lukes, Tourmakeady, next weekend. On Friday night, October 28, the brilliant Bumble Bee will be on stage, a great act for young and old.
The third annual fancy dress night takes place on Saturday, October 29th. Top class music, Hallowe’en displays and lots of fun and craic.

Maire Lukes
A reminder that the Bumble Bee is by back popular demand at Maire Lukes, Tourmakeady, on Friday week, October 28 and the following night the annual Hallowe’en fancy dress takes place. On Saturday, November 19, a big 25 card drive takes place and is organised by the Parents’ Council of Colaista Muire Tuar Mhic Eadagh.
Robe Pastoral group
The parish of Partry-Tourmakeady is a member of the Robe Pastoral Group. Seamus MacEachmharcaigh from Derrymore, Srah, Tourmakeady, is one of fourteen people who will take on the project in the Philippines in 2012. Seamus gave a great talk on the 2012 project at all Masses in Partry and Tourmakeady at the weekend.
The Robe Pastoral Area is made up of the parishes of Ballinrobe, Kilmaine, Roundfort and Partry.
It has come together with SERVE, an Irish overseas development charity, to offer young adults of the area an opportunity to share their presence, their time and skills with the Badjao community of Cebu in the Philippines.
The Badjao Community are a sea-faring people. They originally came from Burma and have settled on the coastal area of Cebu. Their life expectancy is around 40 years of age. This is due to the terrible living conditions that they are forced to live in. Their name 'Badjao' means 'No Value' and in Cebu they would be
seen as the lowest of the low,
Working with them in Cebu is a Presentation Sister, Evelyn Flanagan, from Galway. Sr. Evelyn has been, and continues to be, a voice for the Badjao and devotes her life To Their overall betterment.

Tourmakeady-Partry Swimming Club will start a new session on Saturday next, October 22, with buses going at the usual times. All fees and, most importantly, outstanding fees, must be paid up on Saturday next. In order to maintain this great club all money should be up to date.

Don’t forget that there is a weekly bus service to Castlebar. Take the hassle out of driving into town. There is a bus every Friday leaving O’Toole’s at 10.30 a.m. Free passes are accepted. It is open to all. Other collection points are available. It returns at approximately 3 p.m. Please support this worthwhile service.

A reminder that the Bumble Bee is by back popular demand at Maire Lukes, Tourmakeady, on Friday week, October 28 and the following night the annual Hallowe’en fancy dress takes place. On Saturday, November 19, a big 25 card drive takes place and is organised by the Parents’ Council of Colaista Muire Tuar Mhic Eadagh.
Robe Pastoral group
The parish of Partry-Tourmakeady is a member of the Robe Pastoral Group. Seamus MacEachmharcaigh from Derrymore, Srah, Tourmakeady, is one of fourteen people who will take on the project in the Philippines in 2012. Seamus gave a great talk on the 2012 project at all Masses in Partry and Tourmakeady at the weekend.
The Robe Pastoral Area is made up of the parishes of Ballinrobe, Kilmaine, Roundfort and Partry.
It has come together with SERVE, an Irish overseas development charity, to offer young adults of the area an opportunity to share their presence, their time and skills with the Badjao community of Cebu in the Philippines.
The Badjao Community are a sea-faring people. They originally came from Burma and have settled on the coastal area of Cebu. Their life expectancy is around 40 years of age. This is due to the terrible living conditions that they are forced to live in. Their name 'Badjao' means 'No Value' and in Cebu they would be
seen as the lowest of the low,
Working with them in Cebu is a Presentation Sister, Evelyn Flanagan, from Galway. Sr. Evelyn has been, and continues to be, a voice for the Badjao and devotes her life To Their overall betterment.

Tourmakeady-Partry Swimming Club will start a new session on Saturday next, October 22, with buses going at the usual times. All fees and, most importantly, outstanding fees, must be paid up on Saturday next. In order to maintain this great club all money should be up to date.

Partry Athletic Football Club will be holding an EGM on Wednesday, November 9, at 8.30 p.m. in Partry Community Centre. The meeting has been called to allow the club to vote on the proposed changes which were drafted at the recently held parents meeting of the under age footballers. Fashion show in Halla Thuar Mhic Éadaigh
Tourmakeady’s Hottest Autumn event is on Friday October 21 with a Fashion Show in the hall Tourmakeady. Tickets are selling fast so due to the huge interest we would advise you to get you tickets now if you haven't already purchased them - you will not be disappointed! A great night of entertainment with refreshments and great raffle prizes. All seating will have to be given to those who have purchased tickets for the night.
Children that have not paid for a ticket will have to sit on their parents knees due limited space to accommodate catwalk for the models.

A big crowd is expected at Maire Lukes Bar and Restaurant on Friday, October 14, when Conor Duffy will be on stage with his new hit Keep it Country.

Tourmakeady senior footballers received a league boost with a victory over Parke on Sunday, at Tourmakeady. Goals from Brian Naughton and Micheal Ronan paved the way.
The half-time score was Tourmakeady 2-6 to Parke 0-6. The final score was Tourmakeady 2-13 to Parke 1-10.

Tourmakeady’s Hottest Autumn event is on Friday October 21 with a Fashion Show in the hall Tourmakeady. Tickets are selling fast so due to the huge interest we would advise you to get you tickets now if you haven't already purchased them - you will not be disappointed! Don’t forget that there is a weekly bus service to Castlebar. Take the hassle out of driving into town. There is a bus every Friday leaving O’Toole’s at 10.30 a.m. Free passes are accepted. It is open to all. Other collection points are available. It returns at approximately 3 p.m. Please support this worthwhile service.

A SOCIAL welfare officer will be in attendance every Thursday between 12 noon and 1 p.m. at the Medical Centre, Tourmakeady.
Keep it Country
A big crowd is expected at Maire Lukes Bar and Restaurant on Friday, October 14, when Conor Duffy will be on stage with his new hit Keep it Country.
On Friday, October 28, the annual fancy dress party, with top class music and Halloween fever will be held.
Social dancing continues for everyone on Wednesday nights, at 8.30 p.m.

Partry residents’ bonus number draw
Winners of the Partry residents’ bonus number draw are Charlotte Duignan, Portroyal and Paddy Horan, Derrymore. Both winners now go for three in a row with number three. The next draw is on Saturday, October 15, at 8 p.m.
GAA local lotto
Tourmakeady GAA local lotto is now at €7,500. There was no outright winner of the drawn held on Saturday, October 8, at The Lough Mask Inn.
Consolation prizes went to Paddy Lally, Partry, Eamonn Gibbons, Trianlair, Mark Heneghan, Goirtin Na Colle, Padraig De Burca, Trianlair and Eoin Heneghan, Tourmakeady.

21st birthday celebrations
Congratulations to Mr. John Grant, son of Bridie and James Grant, Gortmore, Tourmakeady, who celebrated his 21st birthday with a function at Maire Lukes Bar and Restaurant, at the weekend. John is grandson of Bridgie Joyce, Gortmore, Tourmakeady.
League boost for senior footballers
Tourmakeady senior footballers received a league boost with a victory over Parke on Sunday, at Tourmakeady. Goals from Brian Naughton and Micheal Ronan paved the way.
The half-time score was Tourmakeady 2-6 to Parke 0-6. The final score was Tourmakeady 2-13 to Parke 1-10.
New baby boy
Congratulations to Christine and Ciaran Walsh, Derryveeney, Tourmakeady, on the birth of their baby boy Paddy. Baby Paddy is a welcome gift to Tourmakeady GAA Club and is grandson of Margaret Walsh, Derryveeney, Tourmakeady.

Halloween
There will be a Halloween Harvest Festival held in Colaiste Muire School on Wednesday October 26. All local businesses interested in showcasing their goods or services (and taking orders for Christmas) are invited to attend. This is an ideal opportunity to promote your product or service in preparation for the busy Christmas season. There will be a €10 stand fee. If you are interested, the number to call is 094 95 44107. Halloween Disco
On Wednesday October 26 there will be a Halloween Harvest Festival and a disco for under 13’s in Colaiste Muire secondary school. It will start at 7:30pm and finishes at 9:30pm. There will be traditional Halloween games, a dramatization of Halloween stories, a disco with a monster mash ball and a prize for the best costume. There will be raffle tickets available on the door with spot prizes, local businesses will be attending and showcasing their products and there will be tea and coffee served. Two important dates for the 2012 diary are: Ballyovey Parish Confirmation for the pupils of Partry-Killitiane and Tuar Mhic Éadaigh will take place on Friday, February 24, in St. Mary’s Church, Tourmakeady. First Holy Communion day for both Partry and Tourmakeady is on Sunday, May 20.

Closing of Garda Station
With the possibility of Tourmakeady Garda Station closing, in the near future, a strong effort will be made to resist the closure. With this in mind a petition will be circulated in the area, from the Ferry Bridge, Finney, to Shanvallyard, Tourmakeady, today (Tuesday) and tomorrow (Wednesday). People are urged to sign the petition to retain the Garda Station.

Final registration for Youth club - seniors

Don’t forget that there is a weekly bus service to Castlebar. Take the hassle out of driving into town. There is a bus every Friday leaving O’Toole’s at 10.30 a.m. Free passes are accepted. It is open to all. Other collection points are available. It returns at approximately 3 p.m. Please support this worthwhile service.

On stage at Marie Lukes Bar and Restaurant, Tourmakeady, on Friday, September 30, is Glor Tire winner Carmel McLoughlin.

Tourmakeady mini-marathon 2012
The first ever Tourmakeady mini-marathon will be held on August 4, 2012, with all proceeds going to the new pairc spraoi (playground) in the village of Tourmakeady. Participants can walk, jog or run. It is part of the 2012 Tourmakeady parish reunion, which will take place from July 12 to August 5, 2012. There will also be beat on the street, a golf classic, American tea party, a trip on Lough Mask, barbecue, GAA games and the reunion dinner.

Tourmkaeady senior footballers play Charlestown, in the Mayo senior GAA relegation final on Sunday, October 2, at 4 p.m. in Claremorris. All possible support is requested.
Vital league points for senior footballers
Tourmakeady senior footballers gained two vital league points on Sunday last, when they defeated Claremorris in Tourmakeady, on a final score of Tourmakeady 1-13 to Claremorris 1-9.
Reunion meeting
The next meeting of the Tourmakeady 2012 reunion group takes place on Monday, October 3, at 8.30 p.m. in Tourmakeady Hall. Final touches to this exciting programme will be made for the reunion, which is taking place from July 21 to August 5, 2012.
Partry Athletic training sessions
Partry Athletic football club has training sessions every Saturday morning between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. for all boys and girls in the Under 8 and Under 10 age groups.

Final registration for Youth club - seniors
Registration for the Senior Youth Club (age 13 years upwards) will take place in Halla Thuar Mhic Éadaigh, on Wednesday October 5 from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30pm. for membership of Óige na Gaeltachta. There is a €15 registration fee (for insurance) and there is a discount for more than one child.
Wood Turning Demonstration please note day and date
There will be a Wood Turning Demonstration on Thursday October 6 from 7.00pm to 9.00pm tutor Maritin Davy Ó Coisteadhla. All are welcome. Lessons start Thursday evening the following week at 7 pm.

Active Indoor Walking Clinic back again!
The Active Walking Club is a programme for those interested in the benefits of walking and how to get the most out of this popular pastime.
