Tragic death of young man
THE parish of Tourmakeady was shocked and stunned at the tragic news of the death of 27 year old Edmund Heneghan, following a freak accident within a mile of his home in Derrendafderg, Srah.
Edmund, son of Teresa and Eddie Heneghan, was a hard worker in the family courier business Mayo Express and also a keen farmer, on the family farm.
He had many friends and this was evident from the numbers who passed through his home and the funeral home in Killawalla and for his funeral Mass, on Friday, October 8, at 12 noon, in St. Patrick’s church, Killawalla. Burial took place at the local cemetery after Mass.
He loved football and wore the Tourmakeady jersey on numerous occasions. He was a great supporter of the black and white and looked forward to the county final, on October 17.
Deepest sympathy is extended to his parents, Teresa and Eddie Heneghan; sisters Cathy, Marie and Megan; brothers Kieran and Matthew; nephew of Mary Ann Heneghan, Shangort; Jack and Michael Heneghan, Clonlee, Partry and many more aunts, uncles and cousins throughout Ireland and Chicago. Also his classmates, friends and relations. May his soul rest in peace.
