GAA lotto jackpot not won Tourmakeady GAA lotto jackpot was not won in the last draw and now stands at €3,300. The next draw will take place, at The Village Inn, on Saturday, June 27th with Michael O’Neill and team L on duty. Tickets are on sale throughout the parish. All money spent on the lotto stays in the parish. Silver circle tickets are also available through the GAA club. The cost is €100 for a year’s lotto entitlement.

Counselling Course   A counselling course in psychotherapy and counselling skills is taking place, at Castlebar Counselling and Therapy Centre. It is a one-year part time evening course, starting in October. It is a suitable course for lay people, priests and religious. Contact the centre, at (094) 9028746 for further details.

Church Rota   Eddie Gibbons will read at the Saturday night 8.30 p.m. Mass, in St. Mary’s, Tourmakeady. Eucharistic Ministers are Carmel Garvey and Kathleen Staunton. Siobhan De Burca will read at the Sunday, 11.30 a.m. Mass and Eucharistic Ministers are Martin O’Neill and Mary Sheridan.   Rose, Mary and Noreen are on church care week.

Irish Heart Foundation gratitude   The Irish Heart Foundation says thanks to the people of Tourmakeady, for a total of €310 collected at a recent church gate collection. All money will be spent wisely.

Under 14 footballers defeated   Hard Luck to the Tourmakeady Under 14 footballers, who were defeated by a much bigger Parke team, in the west Mayo semi-final. It was a close encounter until the final 10 minutes when the team in the cat’s colours pulled away. The final score was Parke 5-13 to Tourmakeady 4-5.

Restaurant open The restaurant at The Village Inn, Partry, is open to the public every Friday and Saturday from 5.30 to 8.30pm and for Sunday lunch special from 1pm to 6.30pm. Booking is advisable at 094 9543249.

Sunday Lunch Special at Marie Luke’s is served from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and bookings are taken, at (094) 9544080

The Lough Inn   The Lough Inn restaurant, Partry, is open to the public every day, until 9 p.m. The weekly traditional music takes place every Friday night, at the Lough Inn. All musicians are welcome to attend with their friends. Reservations should be made for dining, at (094) 9543016.

Look after your valuables.   People are asked not to leave any valuables visible in their cars whilst they are left vacant, for example attending Mass, attending walking trips or sports events, as there have been some unwanted visitors to the area recently.

Recycling Notice   –   The only household items that should be disposed of at the recycling area are glass, cans and clothes and they should be placed in the appropriate recycling container. We would like to remind everyone that CCTV Cameras are in operation in this area.    Thank you. 

Welfare Officer - The Social Welfare officer is in attendance at the Medical Centre on Wednesdays 12 noon to 1.00pm

Loolera Monthly Draw The May Winner of the Tourmakeady Loolera monthly draw was Noreen De Burca, Gortfree. The next draw is on June 30.

Congraulations to Niamh Duffy, daughter of Cathy and Tom Duffy, Derrendafderg, Srah, on winning third place in the All-Ireland Óige na Gaeltachta Talent Competition.  Sean Nós dancing. Niamh, who is only 13, was representing Tourmakeady in the Oige Na Gaeltachta All-Ireland finals in Lettermore, Co. Galway. She is a student of Colaiste Muire, Tuar Mhic Eadaigh. It was a great achievement for Niamh, who will now appear at Máire Lukes, on Saturday night, June 20, as part of the Mulkerrin Brothers programme. Well done Niamh.

Tourmakeady ladies victory over Killala Tourmakeady  Ladies had a great one point win over Killala, in Killala, on Sunday. Goals were provided by Marie Maloney, Patricia Lally and Siobhan Heneghan, who paved the way to victory.

Under 12 beat St. Gerards  TourmakeadyUnder 12 footballers had another great win last week when they defeated St. Gerards on a score of Tourmakeady 4-7 to St. Gerards 1-8, in the Mayo Under 12A league.

21st birthday celebrations   Congratulations to Mikey Shoevlin, son of Carmel and Michael Shoevlin, Churchfield, Tourmakeady, who celebrated his 21st birthday with a function for family and friends at Paddys Bar and Restaurant, Tourmakeady, last weekend. Mikey is brother of Lisa, Jody, Aiden and Robbie. He is also grandson of Mrs. Peggy Heneghan, Churchfield.

Bereavement Thedeath has taken place in Chicago, Illinois, of Mary Ann Dermody. She was wife of Christy Dermody, formerly of Gortnacullin, Srah, Tourmakeady. She is survived by her daughters, sons and grandchildren. She was sister-in-law, of Katie Clarke, Goirtin a Colle, Bernie and Frank, Srah and John, Castlebar. Burial took place on Monday, June 15, after 11a.m. Mass in Chicago, Illinois. May her soul rest in peace.

GAA lotto results  There was no outright winner of the Tourmakeady GAA lotto held in Warde’s, Partry. The numbers chosen were 1, 7, 9 and 25. The consolation winners were Ann Marie Gaynor; Mary Conroy, Gortfree; Seamus Gibbons, Treenláir, Irene Farragher and Kitty Farragher, both Partry. The next draw will be held in the Lough Mass Inn, with Danny Lydon and team k on duty. Tickets at €2 are on sale throughout the parish.
