It is open to all. Other collection points are available. It returns at approximately 3 p.m. Please support this worthwhile service.

PARTRY Athletic Football Club is having a big 25 card drive on Friday, March 30, in Partry Community Centre, starting at 9 p.m. with lots of prizes and raffles. All card players in the parish are asked to support this night. All prizes can be given to Barry Bourke prior to March 30.
Passion Play
The Passion Play in the grounds of Ballintubber Abbey will take place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, April 2, 3 and 4, at 9 p.m. each evening. Wear warm clothes as it is outside. Shelter and seating is provided on the night.

A variety concert in aid of SERVE 2012 will take place in Partry Community Centre, on Good Friday, April 6.

The parents’ council of Colaiste Muire Tuar Mhic Éadaigh has a bumper raffle in progress with huge prizes to be won on Friday, March 30, at Máire Lukes Bar and Restaurant, Tourmakeady. First prize is €500. Second prize is a 32’ TV and DVD player. Third prize is a family mid-week break for two in Delphi Resort. Other prizes include a €250 Corrib Oil voucher, a €250 load of firewood, a €200 blue tooth car kit, Connemara Hill lamb, a case of wine, a €70 hardware voucher and tickets for two at Petersburg Outdoor Education Centre, in Galway. Tickets are €5 and are available from all shops and parents.
Bingo winner
Well done to Maura Gibbons, Partry, on winning the jackpot in a great second half game in Partry Community Centre. There are still lots of jackpots and prizes to be won at the weekly bingo sessions held every Monday night at 8.45 p.m.
Easter céilí
The annual Easter céilí will take place on Saturday, April 7, in Partry Community Centre, with the doors opening at 9.30 p.m. and dancing commencing at 10 p.m. Music is by the Carousel Céilí Band. There will be the usual raffles and refreshments.
Circuit training
A weekly circuit training will take place on Wednesdays, at Partry Community Centre, starting at 8 p.m. for ladies. This is the place to be for anyone looking for exercise or fitness.

The Lonesome West
The Lonesome West, a black comedy by Martin McDonagh, will be performed in Coláiste Muire by the TY students on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd of March at 7:30. The play contains strong language and disturbing themes which some viewers may find offensive. Not suitable for younger audiences. Cost of entry is €10 for adults and €5 for students and O.A.P.s. There will be refreshments and raffle prizes on the night.

Sean on parade in New York
BEST wishes and good luck to Sean Finn, son of Yvonne and David Finn, Lower Churchfield, Tourmakeady, who will play in New York, as part of the Castlebar Concert Band, on St. Patrick’s Day. St. Patrick’s weekend at Marie Luke’s, Tourmakeady, have three great nights of music. On Friday, March 16, Barlety O’Donnell and Ceann Golan are on stage, while on St. Patrick’s night, Sean Brennan and his band take to the rostrum. Double delight
Congratulations go out to Mr. Michael Dermody, New York, and family of Letterineen, Tourmakeady, who was chosen as ‘Mayoman of the Year 2012’ at the Mayo-New York annual dinner dance at the weekend. Also, his brother, Owen, sang a lovely version of the National Anthem, prior to the Mayo v Down game in McHale Park, Castlebar. It was a double delight for the Dermody brothers.
The Lonesome West, a black comedy by Martin McDonagh, will be performed in Coláiste Muire by the TY students on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd of March at 7:30. The play contains strong language and disturbing themes which some viewers may find offensive. Not suitable for younger audiences. Cost of entry is €10 for adults and €5 for students and O.A.P.s. There will be refreshments and raffle prizes on the night.

Ballinrobe Musical Society, supporting Serve Philippines Project, present highlights from their many epic productions of the last number of years in a show called Anthems. This concert will be re-staged, once more, in the Royal Theatre, Castlebar, on Friday, March 16, with proceeds from the night going to the Serve Philippines Project for 2012. Tickets, priced €20, for this must-see show would make a wonderful Mother’s Day present.

The late Catherine Joyce
Tourmakeady community has said farewell to its oldest member at the age of 100. On Sunday, February 19, in the loving care of the management and staff of Hollymount Nursing Home, the peaceful death took place of Catherine Joyce, Tawnagh, Tourmakeady.Catherine would have celebrated her 101st birthday on March 20, but it wasn’t to be.
She was predeceased by her husband Michael in August 1986.Catherine was a hard-working lady and saw many changes, including a number of wars, and good times and bad times. She loved to meet people and had great time for visitors and relations from home or away, especially during her time at Hollymount Nursing Home.She loved music and was a great accordion player.
On Tuesday last her remains were removed to St. Mary’s Church, Tourmakeady, from the local funeral home. Burial took place on Wednesday following Mass celebrated by Fr. John Kenny, P.P., Ballyovey, assisted by Canon Desmond Grogan. Readings were given by Nora De Lance, Catherine’s niece, and Canon Desmond. Music and song were by Marie Hoban. Catherine is survived by her sister-in-law Mary, nieces Judy Fallon, Nora De Lance and Ann Lally, nephew Pat Folan, godson P.T. Sheridan, extended family in Ireland, England and the USA, neighbours and friends.
May her soul rest in peace.

Bingo continues in Partry Community Centre every Monday at 8.45 p.m., with raffles and two jackpots. A great night out is in story for young and old.
Parish reunion meeting
The next meeting of the Tourmakeady 2012 parish reunion takes place on Tuesday, March 6, at 9 p.m. in Tourmakeady Hall. Half the tickets for the main dinner dance on August 3 in Paddy’s have been sold.
Other highlights will include the Beat on the Street on July 21, the agricultural show on July 22, golf classic on August 1, car treasure hunt on July 23, mini marathon on August 4, reunion dinner on August 3 and the visitors dance in the marquee by the lake on August 4.

There will be an array of starters followed by an amazing main course with lamb cooked over the fire, steaks, chicken, and more. A number of talented musicians will play on the night. The cost is just €15.
There will be envelopes on tables for contributions towards the SERVE project where 14 people from Mayo, along with leaders, will worked with the poor in the Philipines.

Catherine is survived by her sister-in-law Mary, nieces Judy Fallon, Nora De Lance and Ann Lally, nephew Pat Folan, godson P.T. Sheridan, extended family in Ireland, England and the USA, neighbours and friends.
May her soul rest in peace.
Bingo
Bingo continues in Partry Community Centre every Monday at 8.45 p.m., with raffles and two jackpots. A great night out is in story for young and old.
Parish reunion meeting
The next meeting of the Tourmakeady 2012 parish reunion takes place on Tuesday, March 6, at 9 p.m. in Tourmakeady Hall. Half the tickets for the main dinner dance on August 3 in Paddy’s have been sold.
Other highlights will include the Beat on the Street on July 21, the agricultural show on July 22, golf classic on August 1, car treasure hunt on July 23, mini marathon on August 4, reunion dinner on August 3 and the visitors dance in the marquee by the lake on August 4.

Ladies GAA
Tourmakeady Ladies GAA team will commence training on Saturday next, March 3, at 11 a.m. at the local GAA pitch. All girls wishing to play this year are asked to attend this training session.
SERVE social night
Fancy a night of good food, fine wine and great live music? All this could be yours on Friday, March 2, at Paddy’s Bar, Tourmakeady, with hosts Cathy and Kevin O’Toole. There will be an array of starters followed by an amazing main course with lamb cooked over the fire, steaks, chicken, and more. A number of talented musicians will play on the night. The cost is just €15.
There will be envelopes on tables for contributions towards the SERVE project where 14 people from Mayo, along with leaders, will worked with the poor in the Philipines.

Card drive
Partry Athletic Football Club are holding a 25 card drive on Friday, March 30, at 9 p.m. in Partry Community Centre. There will be great prizes for the winners and also a raffle.All card players in the parish are asked to support this drive.

Country show
Back by popular demand at Máire Luke’s, Tourmakeady, this Friday is the brilliant country show, with Stuart Moyles and his band. Coming on St. Patrick’s night are Sean Brennan and Denver Country. Social dancing continues every Wednesday from 8.30 to 10.30 p.m. and all are welcome.
Footballers in action
Tourmakeady senior footballers play Kilcommin in the Mayo Comortas Péil semi-final on the weekend of March 3 and 4 in Ballycastle. The final will be played on March 10 at 3.30 p.m., also in Ballycastle.
