Week ending 28th December 2014

FIRST AID COURSE   Following up on the very successful First Aid Course held recently in the Community Centre there will be a meeting in the hall on Wednesday 17th December at 8pm to arrange another FIRST AID COURSE.  Again this is a certified course, which will be valid for two years.  There will be demonstrations on heart attacks, strokes and many other injuries. It is helpful if a member from every village is trained in first aid and defibrillation. It is hoped to put a community plan in place so that everyone in the community has the ability to know who is trained, who to call and more importantly what to do while you are waiting for emergency services.  Anybody interested in the course or information on any aspect of first aid is asked to contact Brian Gibbons on (087) 1200478.

Beidh ranganna ceoil (feadóg stáin/feadóg mhór) ag tosnú sa halla gach Satharn ag 10a.m. ón 29ú Samhain, fáilte roimh gach léibhéal ceoltóra. Tuilleadh eolais: 0876575490

A suggestion was made that we create a place in Tourmakeady and set aside an area to remember and acknowledge people in a place that would be visited by community and those who come to visit Tourmakeady.  We have created Pavey Bricks as result and it is located in the area by the Páirc Spraoi and the Tourist and visitor centre. You can purchase a brick for 75 euro and it will be inscribed with the name that you wish!   It is an idea that was given to us by the committee who are doing a fund raiser for Páirc Spraoi on the 31st October in Chicago.
