LITTER ACTION LEAGUE 2015-Results for 2nd Half of September - The area from the Post Office to the speed limits on the Cong Road 4 pieces of litter noted consisting of sweet papers & tissues. On the stretch of Road up to the church 4 pieces of litter noted consisting of plastic bag, sweet papers and cigarette box. On the Gortfree Road there was 2 pieces of litter visible. From the Post Office to the Community Centre and towards the speed limit including Lough Mask Inn and School there was 5 pieces of litter noted, sweet papers, drink can and plastic cup. Unfortunately again this year despite a great effort we did not reach the semi-final stage of the competition. Grateful thanks to the participants on the three community employments schemes who gave great assistance with the competition and helped keep Tuar Mhic Éadaigh litter free. Míle buíochas daoibh go léir.

LITTER ACTION LEAGUE 2015 Month: September (1st Half) Area: Tourmakeady Marks Awarded: 80 Inspection took place in the morning. The area from the Post Office to the speed limits on the Cong Road there was 6 pieces of litter noted, consisting of paper and sweet wrappers, plastic bottle and cigarette boxes. On the stretch of Road to the church there was 4 pieces noted of plastic wrapper, bottle, and drink cup noted. On the Gortfree Road there was 2 pieces of litter visible. From the Post Office to the Community Centre and towards speed limit including Lough Mask Inn and School there was 8 pieces of litter noted, these were plastic bottles, paper and plastic wrapping.and paper cup. Next judging will take place at any stage from the 17th to 30th of September. The semi finals and finals will take place in October. Draw for September 2nd Half Ballindine v Balla Tourmakeady v Louisburgh Mulranny v Cong Kilmaine v Bangor Erris. Let's do our best to get a better place in the competition than we had previously.
