The Tourmakeady Agricultural and Food Festival Show Thank you to all the sponsors for your backing and encouragement.  Thank you everyone for your help before and on the day.   Thank you to all who came along to the show in spite of the weather.  Very much appreciated.   Thank you to the existing show committee members and to the new members who bought another dimension to the activities.    Thanks to everyone who supported the Show Dance at Marie Luke’s.   Great turnout, great night.

Pride of Place – we asked that you make your pride in Tourmakeady very visible on 28th July.   You did and thank you for the great turnout and show of support you gave to the Tourmakeady Organisations involved in the day.   On Tourmakeady time the judges visited many of the past, present and future projects that are ongoing in the area.   They had some very positive words about their visit and you never know - we might achieve an award!   It was very apparent that the judges were impressed with what they saw and the opportunity they had to meet and mingle with the community - so thank you everyone.  Also behind the scenes there were many who supported our application and helped.  Also to the community employment schemes and everyone in the hall thanks for the work and to those who donated and made refreshments for the day.   Thank you to Mayo County Council for giving us the opportunity to enter the competition and for all the assistance and advice given.  It was a tremendous day and showed the true spirit of the Tourmakeady community.

Help please!   If anyone would like to help with refreshments on the evening of the marathon we would be very grateful.  It is our fourth 10k and it is a great opportunity to join us for this community event.

10k mini marathon This 10k is suitable for runners, joggers and walkers alike. It is a loop walk along the scenic shores of Lough Mask in Co Mayo. The location is 1 hour from Galway city, and 30 minutes from Westport, Castlebar and Ballinrobe.   The event starts at 6pm on 1st August.  Water stations en route and a cup of tea and refreshments for participants afterwards in the community hall. Parking will be directed by stewards on the day. This year the event will be run in the opposite direction to previous years to give the runners and walkers a chance to catch their breath as the steep “Maloney Hill” will be a descent at the end rather than an ascent at the start. All runners and walkers can enjoy a bite to eat afterwards

Traffic restrictions  There will be traffic restrictions in place in Tourmakeady on Saturday 1st August from 5.30pm for the 10k Mini Marathon.   Please drive slowly.  You will be directed by stewards.   Thank you.
