The Summer Camp is open to children aged 7 to 12 years of age week commencing Monday July 16 to Friday July 20. Hours 10am to 3pm. The camp is organised by Halla Tourmakeady in partnership with Óige na Gaeltachta. There will be loads of fun packed activities covering football, rounders, basket ball, music, art and a special party for everyone on the last day of the Camp. We would like to offer a sincere thank you to Doris and Ronnie Wilson of Drimbawn House for opening their gardens to the general public. The opportunity to see such magnificent views of Lough Mask and the stunning gardens was brilliant. 15th Annual Tourmakeady Agricultural Show
Once again the countdown is on to the 15th Annual Tourmakeady Agriculture Show on Sunday, July 22 starting at 12 noon in the Tourmakeady GAA grounds.
Now is the time to get planting, sowing or painting for the show which will be during the first weekend of the reunion festival.
There will be many events for young and old such as sheep, Conemara, ponies, donkeys, dogs, vegetables, home baking, crafts, photography and art, sports events for children, country and Irish music, sean nós dancing, barbeque, trade stands and lots more.

Don’t forget that there is a weekly bus service to Castlebar. Take the hassle out of driving into town. There is a bus every Friday leaving O’Toole’s at 10.30 a.m. Free passes are accepted. It is open to all. Other collection points are available. It returns at approximately 3 p.m.

The wedding took place at St. Mary’s Church, Westport, of Marie Gill, daughter of Frank and Martina Gill, to Mr. Antaine O’Neill, son of Michael and Evelyn O’Neill, Derryveeney, Tourmakeady.
The ceremony was performed by Fr. John Kenny, P.P., Ballyovey, Tourmakeady. Bridesmaids were Ruth Gill, Caroline O’Neill and Elaine Gavin. Best man was Michéal O’Neill and groomsmen were Stiofán O’Neill and John Gill, flower girls were Lorna Kearney and Laura O’Connor. Readings were Noreen O’Connor and Arthur Gill. The prayers were read by Mary T. Kenny, Kathleen Grady, Ross Keller, Bernadette Kearney, Justin Gannon, Vanessa Rose. Musicians were Marian Coll, Treasa Kelly and Con McFadden. The reception was held in Hotel Westport.

On stage at Maire Lukes Bar and Lounge this Friday night is Stuart Moyles and on Saturday, June 23, a fund-raising night for the Arch Club, Ballinrobe and music will be by KFM Band. On Sunday night, June 24, is a traditional music night from 8 p.m. till late.

This is an invitation to families to come along and have a bike check and to learn more cycling skills in a fun environment. The venue is Tourmakeady National School time between 4.30pm and 6.00pm on Monday June 18. Music and refreshments. Please make sure that you have your bike helmet. No charge.

Campa Samhradh - Summer Camp in Halla Tourmakeady
The Summer Camp is open to children aged 7 to 12 years of age week commencing Monday July 16 to Friday July 20. Hours 10am to 3pm. The camp is organised by Halla Tourmakeady in partnership with Óige na Gaeltachta. There will be loads of fun packed activities covering football, rounders, basket ball, music, art and a special party for everyone on the last day of the Camp. Gardens open to the general public
Visit Tourmakeady to see the gardens of historical Drimbawn House which will be open to the general public on Saturday June 16 and Sunday June 17 from 12 noon to 4.00pm. The beauty of the estate blends in with the splendid landscape which has magnificent views of Lough Mask The garden trail reveals a large variety of flora and fauna and will provide the gardening enthusiast with a large array of species around the estate. Once again the countdown is on to the 15th Annual Tourmakeady Agriculture Show on Sunday, July 22 starting at 12 noon in the Tourmakeady GAA grounds.
Now is the time to get planting, sowing or painting for the show which will be during the first weekend of the reunion festival.
There will be many events for young and old such as sheep, Conemara, ponies, donkeys, dogs, vegetables, home baking, crafts, photography and art, sports events for children, country and Irish music, sean nós dancing, barbeque, trade stands and lots more.

At a meeting of Tourmakeady group water scheme last week, it was decided that water rates for 2012 would be collected for six months, half the rate that was paid in 2011 and arrears. It is most important that these rates be paid immediately, so that the scheme can pay the money to the Council. Payments can be made at the Tourmakeady post office as soon as possible.
New baby girl
Congratulations to Sheila and William Barker, Tourmakeady, on the birth of their baby daughter, Abigail, at Mayo General Hospital last week. Baby Abigail is a little sister for Eabha and granddaughter for Eileen and Sean Barker and a great granddaughter for Annie Barker, all of Trianlar, Tourmakeady.

An FAI summer camp for boys and girls aged between six and 14 will be held at Partry Athletic AFC, from July 9 to 13. Further information and booking can be obtained from (1800) 653653 or through the website www.fai.ie.Partry Athletic Under 8s training is on every Saturday morning from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Training for Under 10s and 12s is on every Saturday morning from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Both training sessions take place on the pitch at Partry.

Deepest sympathy is extended to Mrs. Evelyn Byrne, Portroyal, Partry, on the death of her father Maurice Galvin, Ballinrobe. Burial took place in Ballinrobe. Maurice was father-in-law of Conal Byrne, Partry. Sympathy also to Gabriel Derrig, Cappaduff, Tourmakeady, on the death of her sister Veronica O’Malley, Newport. She was sister-in-law of Sean Derrig, Cappaduff. Burial took place in the local cemetery. May they rest in peace.
