Sympathy  We regret to announce the death of Sean O’Malley, Srah, Tourmakeady, and Stella Maris, Tuam, who died on Friday, September 12, peacefully, at University Hospital Galway, surrounded by his family.

In his early eighties, Sean was a hard working man prior to his illness, and was a great neighbour.

Sean played football with the first ever Tourmakeady GAA team when activities were held at ‘The Priest Field’ in Goirtinmare.

He was also a great musician, which was also displayed by three generations of his family at his funeral Mass on Monday.

Large crowds assembled for his final journey on Sunday as his remains were removed from St. Mary’s Funeral Home to Tourmakeady Church. Burial took place on Monday following Requiem Mass celebrated by Fr. John Kenny, P.P., assisted by Fr. Michael Tracey, Killawalla.

Readings were given by Siobhan and Padraig, niece and nephew of Sean, and also Eileen O’Malley, sister of Sean. Lovely music and song was given by the O’Malley family.

A meaningful and deserved reflection was delivered by his nephew John and his sister Eileen, who also gave special mention to the staff of Stalla Maris and UCHG for their wonderful care to Sean.

Sean, son of the late Julia and Tom O’Malley and brother of the late Michael, is survived by sisters Mary, Eileen and Julia, brothers Tomas, Padraig, Martin and Myles, also brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and extended family and relations. May his soul rest in peace.

Sympathy We offer sympathy to the relatives of both Tim Coneboy and his cousin Paddy John Lydon, both of Cappencreha, Tourmakeady, who were laid to rest recently at Churchfield Cemetery, Tourmakeady. May both of them rest in peace.
