Ladies footballers’ success
CONGRATULATIONS to the Tourmakeady ladies footballers who booked their passage to the Mayo junior semi-final following their great victory over Killala before a big following.
In a great game of solid championship style football, three super goals in the opening quarter paved the way for Tourmakeady.
Patricia Lally netted twice and Captain Ann Marie Ronan got the third goal to leave the half-time score reading Tourmakeady 3-6, Killala 1-4.
In the second half the visitors made great efforts to level the game but a number of bad misses were costly. Super sub Fiona Heneghan-Casey made life difficult and sealed this replayed issue, the final score being Tourmakeady 3-12, Killala 1-14.
It was an all-round great display by the girls and well done too to the management team of Michéal Heneghan and Sean Kearns, with the great support of Mattie Heneghan, the 2008 manager.
It was a great weekend for the girls who had a very successful fundraiser on Friday.
Thank you
