Social Club (formerly Over 60’s) Thursdays Halla Thuar Mhic Éadaigh Come and join us for a bit of fun and light recreational exercises. We have a good laugh and other activities take place during the afternoon. Get together starts at 2.00pm

Gardens open to the General Public Visit Tourmakeady to see the gardens of historical Drimbawn House which will be open on Saturday 27th June and Sunday 28th June from 12 noon to 4.00pm. The beauty of the estate blends in with the splendid landscape which has magnificent views of Lough Mask and the Partry Mountains. The garden trail reveals a large variety of flora and fauna and will provide the gardening enthusiast with a large array of species around the estate.

Social Club (formerly Over 60’s) The annual summer lunch will take place in Marie Luke’s on Thursday 23rd July Meet at 2.30pm for lunch at 3.00pm. All welcome.

Pride of Place – make your pride in Tourmakeady visible on 28th July. Tourmakeady is one of the areas chosen by Mayo County Council to take part in a countrywide competition that will showcase the development of Tourmakeady and promote its plans for more development which will be taking place in the immediate future. More information as we put plans together for the judges who will be touring the area on the day. Your community participation and that great Tourmakeady spirit and welcome will again be much appreciated on the 28th July.

‘Buy a Brick’ 6” x 9” We had a request during the organisation of the 2014 Chicago Reunion Fund Raiser for Páirc Spraoi. It asked us if we could find a location to feature memory bricks. These bricks would commemorate people from the area or events that happened in the area. If you are interested and would like to purchase a brick you can get the order form from Halla Thuar Mhic Éadaigh or you can contact 094 95 44295 or 087 1162058. The cost is €230 payable to Coiste Pobail Thuar Mhic Éadaigh Teo.

The Tourmakeady Agricultural Show and Food Festival All roads lead to Tourmakeady on Sunday 26th July 2015 for the Annual Agricultural Show and Food Festival. It will be held on the GAA pitch! It promises to be a great day out for all the family.- enter one or all of the many attractions - There will be many different categories to enter and lots of sideshows, sports and various games and a variety of food stands. Following on from last year is the Tourmakeady Most Stylish Lady Competition and it has just been confirmed that our celebrity judge on Sunday July 26th is ...Sile Seoighe. Gates will be open from midday - see you on the day!

Summer Camp Halla Tourmakeady from Monday 13th July to Friday 17th July 2015 The hours are from 10am to 3pm. There will be a day out on Thursday 16th July. Many activities including football, basket ball games etc. Cost €40 Call 087 116 2058 for more information

Litter Action League Results for month of May:  Inspection began at Post Office and Gortfree Road.  There were 11 pieces of litter counted along this route. This litter consisted of cigarette buts, plastic bottles, sweet wrappers, take away cup and some broken mirror. From Post Office junction along Cong Road 1 piece of litter was noted.   From Post Office to end of green / playground area 1 magazine and 1 tissue was noted.  The Green Area was litter free. 2 pieces of plastic and 1 bottle was noted along stretch of road from playground to Lough Mask Inn.  1 sweet wrapper and 1 paper were counted along stretch of road that leads to the Church and Burial Ground. The area around National School and Car Park at football pitch were litter free.  There is a slight improvement in marks this month.  Judges remarked on the high number of litter on Gortfree Rd and asked for improvement on this route for the month of June where our opponents will be Bangor Erris.  Míle buíochas do na rannpháirtí ar na scéimeanna fostaíochta pobail atá ag tabhairt an-cúnamh leis an comórtas seo agus le muintir an phobail féin atá ag déanamh iarracht Tuar Mhic Éadaigh a choinneáil saor ó bruscar.  Coinnigh suas an sár obair!

Boom Sprayer Course:   Due to a high number of enquiries regarding this course  we have decided to run a  third Boom Sprayer Course in Halla Tuar Mhic Éadaigh on the  4th and 11th November.  This is the earliest dates we could get tuitor. This course is already booked out.  For those who have been booked on the other two Boom Sprayer Course s the dates are as follows:  1st course Thurs 16th July and Thurs 23rd July.   Second course  Wed 22nd July and Mon 27th July.  We will be sending letter in post shortly with times and further details.  In the meantime, if you have any questions call Nora at 094-9544295.

Put on your walking boots for the loop walk starting at the Naíonra Srah on Sunday 7th June at 3.00pm
